Kataklysm

Kataklysm adalah band death metal Canada. Mereka menyebut gaya musik mereka "north hyperblast" setelah sebuah iklan di majalah M.E.A.T menggambarkan band lain, Fear Factory, sebagai "hyperblast". Istilah ini mengacu pada ketukan sangat cepat dari drummer Kataklysm, Max Duhamel.

Kataklysm dibentuk pada tahun 1991. Pada awal karir mereka, mereka lebih dikenal sebagai salah satu band dengan tempo musik tercepat dan band metal paling kacau. Namun, musik mereka berubah setelah Sylvain Houde meninggalkan band, setelah bassist mereka yang juga sebagai backing vocal Maurizio Iacono mengambil alih tugas yang ditinggalkan Houde, dan setelah bassis Stephane Barbe direkrut untuk mengisikan posisi Maurizio lacono yang berpidah menjadi vocalis.
