Rammstein

Rammstein (diucapkan [ˈʀamʃtaɪ̯n]) adalah sebuah band Industrial Metal German, yang dibentuk di Berlin, Rammstein terkenal dengan aliran musiknya NDH-scene, sama seperti Oomph! dan Die Krupps. Aliran musik mereka sering disebut Tanz-Metal (lit. "Dance Metal"). Dibentuk tahun 1994, mereka sudah menjual 22 juta album rekaman diseluruh dunia. Nama Rammstein diambil secara tidak langsung dari kota kecil di Jerman Barat, yakni Ramstein, kota yang terdapat pangkalan militer Amerika Serikat, dan di kota itu jugalah pernah terjadi kecelakaan dalam pameran kedirgantaraan Blok Barat pada 1988. Salah satu lagu mereka yang berjudul "Rammstein", sebenarnya lebih ditujukan untuk mengenang peristiwa tragis tersebut daripada menjadi lagu mengenai band itu sendiri.
Walaupun lagu yang mereka bawakan tidak dalam bahasa Inggris, band ini cukup terkenal di luar Jerman, dan mempunyai basis penggemar yang kuat di Eropa Barat, Rusia, Amerika Utara, Tengah, serta Australia. Dan dengan peluncuran album "Reise, Reise" pada 2004, mereka menjadi band Jerman paling fenomenal di belantika musik internasional. Lagu-lagu mereka juga selalu menempati urutan sepuluh besar di Jerman.

Rammstein didirikan oleh gitaris Richard Z. Kruspe. Pada tahun 1989, dia melarikan diri ke Berlin Barat dan memulai sebuah band, Orgasm Death Gimmicks. Pada saat itu, ia sangat dipengaruhi oleh musik Amerika, terutama Kiss. Setelah Tembok Berlin Runtuh, dia pindah kembali ke Schwerin tempat dimana Till Lindemann bekerja sebagai penenun keranjang dan bermain drum untuk band First Arsch (sering disebut "Apex Ass"). Pada saat itu, Richard tinggal dengan Oliver Riedel, dari band Inchtabokatables, dan Christoph "Doom" Schneider (dari Die Firma). Richard menyadari bahwa musik yang dia ciptakan sebelumnya tidak sesuai dengan yang dia inginkan. Dia menciptakan sesuatu dengan menggabungkan suara mesin dan suara distorsi gitar. Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1999, the band blends influences stemming from modern hardcore punk, symphonic black metal, and melodic death metal. Although the band is often labeled as simply metalcore, when Brandan Schieppati was asked if he considers Bleeding Through a hardcore band, he said: "I think we're a hardcore band and I'll never say we are a metal band, we're all hardcore kids and we came from the hardcore scene. Ours is just a different version of hardcore, we're trying to do something which adds a different variety to the hardcore scene, which has been sounding the same way for so long."
In 2004, Revolver magazine hailed Bleeding Through as one of eight bands ushering in the "Future of Metal" cover story, and Spin called Bleeding Through an "artist to watch" in the magazine's February 2004 issue.
Bleeding Through, a straight edge metalcore/death metal band, was formed in 1999 in Woodlake, California. The band's roots can be traced back to 1998, when Breakneck was founded by Brandan 'Sheep' Schieppati (Eighteen Visions / Throwdown), Javier Van Huss (Eighteen Visions / The Mistake / Enewetak), guitarist Scott Danough, bass guitarist Chad Tafolla and drummer Troy Born (Taken). They made their live debut as the supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. As the band witnessed lineup changes, the departure of Van Huss and subsequent recruitment of Marc Jackson (Throwdown / Cold War) to cover bass whilst Tafolla reverted to guitar, they decided to expand their current hardcore sound and added elements of death metal to their music. The origin of the band's name was explained in an interview as follows: "Well, it is summed up by the explanation that whether black, white, red, brown, yellow, religious preference, straight or gay, we all bleed the same, and we bleed through this life the same. Thus Bleeding Through."

Unearth

Unearth is an American metalcore band from Winthrop, Massachusetts. Formed in 1998, the group has released five studio albums. Their fourth record, The March was released on October 14, 2008 meeting with high positive reception by many. Their fifth album, Darkness in the Light, was released July 5, 2011.

Unearth was formed by Trevor Phipps, Buz McGrath, Ken Susi, Mike Rudberg, and Chris Rybicki in Eastern Massachusetts in 1998. The band began as Point 04 (containing McGrath, Rudberg, and Rybicki), and Susi was recruited soon afterwards. The band attempted to recruit Phipps while he recovered from appendicitis, but Phipps was reluctant to join. However, when Phipps showed up to a jam session for one of Susi's side bands, Unearth was practicing instead, and Phipps agreed to join after hearing the song "Shattered by the Sun." The name "Unearth" was coined by drummer Mike Rudberg as he wanted the band to "Unearth" a new sound in the metal and hardcore world. On the small independent label, Endless Fight Records, they released their first EP called Above the Fall of Man in May 1999. Unearth then signed to Eulogy Recordings to release The Stings of Conscience in 2001 and the Endless EP in 2002. During the process of Endless, Chris Rybicki left the group and was replaced by John Maggard.

Trivium

Trivium is an American heavy metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 1999. Signed to Roadrunner Records, the band has released five studio albums, eleven singles, and twelve music videos. Their latest album, In Waves was released on August 9, 2011.

At his Lake Brantley High School talent show, guitarist Matt Heafy performed a cover version of "Self Esteem" by The Offspring. Vocalist Brad Lewter noticed Heafy and asked him to try out for his band. The pair went over to drummer Travis Smith's house where they played Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Impressed with Heafy's performance, they accepted him into the band known as Trivium. After several shows at bars and local clubs, Lewter quit the band and Heafy took over his position as vocalist. In early 2003, Trivium went into the recording studio to record its first high-quality demo disc. A copy of the demo was heard by German label Lifeforce, who signed Trivium. The band entered a studio to record its debut album, Ember to Inferno.
As time went on, Corey Beaulieu joined. In 2004, Paolo Gregoletto joined as the band's bassist to replace Brent Young, before a tour with Machine Head.bThe album Ember to Inferno managed to garner the interest of Roadrunner Records representatives, who later signed Trivium to a record deal. They then began writing songs for their major label debut.

Attack Attack!

Attack Attack! adalah band heavy metal Amerika dari Westerville, Ohio. Kelompok ini saat menandatangani kontrak dengan Rise Records. Sejak awal mereka terbentuk di tahun 2005, Attack Attack! telah merilis satu EP, If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords? dan dua full-length album, Someday Came Suddenly dan sebuah album self-titled.

Suicide Silence

Suicide Silence adalah sebuah band extreme metal Amerika dari Riverside, California. Kelompok ini terdiri dari vokalis Mitch Lucker, gitaris Chris Garza dan Mark Heylmun, drummer Alex Lopez dan bassist Dan Kenny. Dibentuk pada tahun 2002, band ini telah merilis tiga album studio full-length, satu EP dan tujuh video musik. Kataklysm

Kataklysm adalah band death metal Canada. Mereka menyebut gaya musik mereka "north hyperblast" setelah sebuah iklan di majalah M.E.A.T menggambarkan band lain, Fear Factory, sebagai "hyperblast". Istilah ini mengacu pada ketukan sangat cepat dari drummer Kataklysm, Max Duhamel.

Kataklysm dibentuk pada tahun 1991. Pada awal karir mereka, mereka lebih dikenal sebagai salah satu band dengan tempo musik tercepat dan band metal paling kacau. Whitechapel

Whitechapel adalah sebuah band deathcore Amerika dari Knoxville, Tennessee. Kelompok ini terdiri dari vokalis Phil Bozeman, gitaris Ben Savage, Alex Wade, Householder Zach; Crisp bassis dan drummer Ben Gabe Harclerode. Nama band mereka berasal dari sebuah distrik built-up di kota London, yang dikenal dengan nama Whitechapel. Sejak awal mereka berdiri pada tahun 2006, band ini telah merilis tiga album studio, lima video musik dan saat ini menandatangani kontrak dengan Metal Blade Records. Linkin Park

Linkin Park adalah grup musik beraliran nu metal dan rock alternatif yang berasal dari Aguora Hills, California, di Amerika Serikat. Mereka sempat beberapa kali berganti nama, antara lain Xero, Hybrid Theory, 0818, hingga nama Linkin Park sampai sekarang. Nama "Linkin Park" sendiri merupakan plesetan dari nama sebuah taman di Los Angeles, Lincoln Park.

Sebelum Chester Bennington menjadi vokalis Linkin Park, Mark Wakefield lebih dulu menjadi vokalisnya. Namun, ia keluar dari Linkin Park untuk mencari proyek lain (menjadi manajer grup band Taproot)– saat itu menggunakan nama Hybrid Theory – untuk menjadi manajer grup musik Taproot. Children of Bodom

Children of Bodom adalah band heavy metal dari Espoo Finlandia. Dibentuk pada tahun 1993, dengan nama IneartheD, kelompok ini terdiri dari Alexi Laiho (vokal, lead guitar), Roope Latvala (gitar), Janne Wirman (keyboard), Henkka Seppälä (bass), dan Jaska Raatikainen (drum). KoЯn adalah grup musik Nu metal Amerika yang terbentuk di Bakersfield, California, Amerika Serikat. pada tahun 1993. Formasi band saat ini mencakup empat anggota: Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, dan Ray Luzier. Korn dibentuk pada tahun 1993, tahun yang sama saat merilis album demo pertama mereka, Neidermeyer's Mind. Album ini menampilkan dua mantan anggota Korn, Brian "Head" Welch dan David Silveria. Sejarah:
Formasi Neidermeyer's Mind demo, Korn (1993–1995)
Korn terbentuk setelah band L.A.P.D bubar akibat penyanyinya yang ketergantungan obat terlarang. Reginald Arvizu, James Shaffer, dan David Silveria ingin melanjutkan band dengan merekrut Brian Welch sebagai gitaris, lantas memulai band baru bernama Creep.

Awal tahun 1993, Creep mengamati vokalis Sexart, Jonathan Davis untuk diajak bergabung dengan band. Davis sebenarnya tak ingin bergabung, tapi setelah berkonsultasi dengan seorang paranormal dia memutuskan untuk ikut audisi dan akhirnya bergabung. Seperti yang dia katakan sendiri pada sesi wawancara DVD Who Then Now. Setelah Jonathan direkrut, mereka ingin mengubah nama band Creep dengan nama baru. Akhirnya mereka mengubahnya menjadi “Korn”. Jonathan yang menyarankan nama itu ketika sesi latihan yang disukai juga oleh anggota lainnya. Jonathan mengambil krayon dan menulis logo mereka dengan tulisan tangan anak-anak mengganti huruf “C” dengan “K” serta penulisan huruf “R” yang dibalik.

Pada bulan April di tahun itu, Korn mulai menjalin persahabatan dengan seorang produser, Ross Robinson, yang merekam album demo pertama mereka Neidermeyer’s Mind. Selama tahun pertama, mereka kurang mendapat tempat di kalangan penikmat musik yang saat itu aliran grunge masih sangat digandrungi. Setelah beberapa kali percobaan dengan beberapa perusahaan rekaman. Paul Pontius dari Immortal/Epic Records mendengar band ini di sebuah klub malam dan sangat terkesan, dia langsung menemui mereka serta menawarkan langsung kontrak rekaman. Dengan seorang produser dan label, Korn mulai mengerjakan album pertama mereka.
Secara musikalitas, album mereka menggabungkan antara heavy metal, grunge, hip hop dan funk. “Blind” menjadi single pertama mereka, dan mendapatkan perhatian di pasaran. Ketika Korn merilis album tersebut tanggal 11 Oktober 1994, tawaran konser tak henti-hentinya berdatangan tanpa bantuan stasiun radio atau video. Kepopuleran mereka murni semata-mata hanya mengandalkan konser yang terus berlanjut, yang akhrinya menciptakan kelompok penggemar fanatik. Aktivitas para penggemarlah yang membantu menolong Korn di Billboard 200, dengan mencatatkan mereka di peringkat #72 tahun 1996. lagu mereka “Shoots and Ladders” masuk dalam nominasi Grammy kategori Best Metal Performance.[8]saat konser akbar pertama mereka, Korn menjadi band pembuka Danzig bersama Merilyn Manson, Korn pernah menjadi band pembuka beberapa band besar lainnya di tahun 1995 seperti, Megadeth, 311, Fear Factor, Flotsam & Jetsam dan KMFDM. Tapi tur konser yang benar-benar menyorot mereka adalah ketika membuka konser Ozzy Osbourne bersama Deftones. Setelah itu Korn kembali mengerjakan proyek album keduanya.

Nominasi dan penghargaan
Korn sejauh ini berhasil menjual 30 juta album di seluruh dunia, termasuk 16,5 juta di Amerika saja. Korn berhasil menggondol 2 penghargaan dari 6 nominasi Grammy: satu untuk “Best Short Short Form Music Video” untuk lagu “Freak on a Leash” dan satu lagi “Here To Stay” kategori “Best Metal Performance”. Korn juga berhasil mendapatkan 2 penghargaan dan 10 nominasi di ajang MTV Video Music Award yaitu, “Best Rock Video” dan “Best Editing” untuk video “Freak on a Leash”.

Disturbed

Sejarah:
Sebelum vokalis David Draidman bergabung dengan Disturbed, lebih dulu tiga personel mempunyai band yang bernama Brawl dengan formasi awal, vokalis pada Awalt Erich, gitaris pada Dan Donegan, drummer pada Mike Wengren, dan bassis pada Steve "Fuzz" Kmak. Awalt meninggalkan band setelah rekaman tape kaset. Ketiga personel tersisa mencari vokalis melalui audisi yang ditampilkan di iklan melalui Publikasi Musik Lokal di Chicago yang bernama "Illinois Entertainer". Draidman megikuti audisi itu. Draidman akhirnya terpilih dengan pujian dari tiga personel brawl tersebut. Draidman bergabung ke Brawl pada tahun 1996, dan setelah itu Brawl diganti menjadi Disturbed. Di mana nama Disturbed ini berasal dari sugesti Draidman untuk mengubah nama band Brawl sewaktu audisi

Slipknot adalah sebuah band beraliran Nu Metal dari Des Moines, Iowa yang dibentuk pada 1995, Band ini telah beberapa kali mengganti anggotanya dan memiliki anggota tetap sejak 1999 yaitu: Sid Wilson, Joey Jordison, Paul Gray, Chris Fehn, James Root, Craig Jones, Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Mick Thomson, dan Corey Taylor. As I Lay Dying adalah band metalcore Amerika dari San Diego, California. Lamb Of God

Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994, the group consists of vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler. The band is considered to be a part of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement.[1][2][3]

Since its formation, Lamb of God has released six studio albums, one live album, one compilation album and three DVDs. The band's cumulative sales equal almost two million in the United States. In 2007 the band received a Grammy nomination for their 2006 album Sacrament. Lamb of God has toured with the Ozzfest twice and appeared on Slayer's The Unholy Alliance Tour in 2006. They have also played at many other major festivals around the world including Download Festival and Sonisphere Festival in the UK, Soundwave Festival, and Gigantour (headlined by Megadeth). Recently, (2008–2010) they have toured with Metallica (World Magnetic Tour). Lamb of God also played on the main stage on Mayhem Festival 2010.

Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold (often abbreviated A7X) is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California. Formed in 1999, the group consists of M. Shadows (vocalist), Synyster Gates (lead guitarist), Zacky Vengeance (rhythm guitarist), and Johnny Christ (bassist).

They are known for their diverse rock sound and dramatic imagery in album covers and t-shirts. Avenged Sevenfold emerged with a metalcore sound on their debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet but their style had evolved by their third album and first major label release, City of Evil into a hard rock/heavy metal sound. The band continued to explore new sounds with their self-titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their drummer, James "The Rev" Sullivan, died in 2009. Despite his death, the band continued on with help of now-former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy and released and toured in support of their fifth album Nightmare in 2010 which debuted on the top spot of the Billboard 200, their first number one debut.

To date, Avenged Sevenfold has released five studio albums, one live album/compilation/DVD, and eighteen singles and sold more than four million albums worldwide. The band has received much credit for their worldwide mainstream success and were featured as second place on Ultimate Guitar's Top Ten Bands of the Decade.

Bullet For My Valentine

Bullet for My Valentine are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is composed of Matthew Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. Financial difficulties dictated the name change, which was followed by a change in music direction. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic heavy metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Slayer. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene.

Bullet for My Valentine's debut album, The Poison, was released on 3 October 2005 in the United Kingdom and on 14 February 2006 in the United States to coincide with Valentine's Day hence their band name. The album entered the Billboard 200 in the US at number 128. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The band made appearances at the Download Festival and Kerrang! XXV, and undertook a US tour with Rob Zombie. Bullet for My Valentine's second studio album, Scream Aim Fire, was released on 29 January 2008 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. The band's third album, Fever, was released on 26 April 2010 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. The band has sold over one million albums in the United States and nearly 2,500,000 albums worldwide and are the most-successful act in the Kerrang! Awards category of "Best British Band" with three wins.
